JOB NOTICE – ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER

Enforce the laws and ordinances set forth by the State of Texas and City of Seymour. Clean and maintain the animal impound location. Provide care for animals in our custody and control. Pick up deceased animals and dispose of them according to city requirements. Look out for and address any animal violations or concerns. Duties include assisting Code Enforcement and any other duties assigned.

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED and must have a Basic Police Academy Certification or be able to obtain a Texas Department of State Health Services Basic Animal Control Training & Certification. Must possess a basic proficiency certificate from and be in good standing with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, or possess or be able to obtain a Basic Animal Control Certification. Prior experience is preferred. Must possess a class “C” drivers license. Minorities and Women are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screening, and successfully obtain security clearance via a criminal history check before any job offer can be made. JOB NOTICE – Water Technician/Wastewater Treatment Operator

The City of Seymour, Texas has a job opening for a full-time Water Technician/Wastewater Treatment Operator. An application may be picked up at City Hall, 301 N. Washington Street. A Texas Class “C” driver’s license is mandatory. Applicants must have a High School or a GED.
Water and Wastewater Certificate must be obtained while working for the City of Seymour.
