SPECIAL CALLED/BUDGET WORKSHOP

AUGUST 8, 2017

 

A Special Called Meeting/Budget Workshop was held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. at Seymour City Hall, Conference Room, 301 N. Washington Street, Seymour, TX 76380.

 

Mayor Josh Sosolik called the meeting to order along with roll call and Pledge of Allegiance at 6:01 p.m.

 

Council present: Mayor Josh Sosolik, Council members Les Hons, Paula K. Vaden, MPT Jon Hrncirik, Mary K. Fair and Monty Glass.

 

Counsel present: City Attorney Jonathan Whitsitt was not present at this meeting.

 

City Staff: City Administrator Steve Biedermann, City Secretary Conchita Torrez and Finance Director Mary Griffin.

 

Guest: Cliff Porter

 

  1. Discuss, consider and approve Resolution No. 1447, a resolution of the City Council accepting the Certified Tax Appraisal Roll as prepared by Baylor County Appraisal District for properties in the city limits of the City of Seymour and subject to the ad valorem tax for Fiscal Year 2017-2018.

 

Mayor and City Council reviewed the Certified Tax Roll for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 as presented by the Baylor Co. Appraisal District.

 

Motion made by Council member Les Hons, second by Council member Monty Glass to approve as presented. Motion passed unanimously.

 

  1. Seymour City Council Members will discuss and review the Second Budget draft for the City of Seymour, Fiscal Year 2017-2018, as proposed by City Staff. City Council may direct modifications to proposed budget document.

 

City Council reviewed the budget draft as presented by Finance Director Mary Griffin. Several items were changed and Ms. Griffin was asked to make those changes and present them at the next budget workshop.

 

  1. Adjournment by MPT Jon Hrncirik, second by Council member Les Hons to adjourn meeting at 9:06 p.m. Motion passed unanimously.
