Animal Control Officer

Job description

The City of Seymour is taking application for the role of Animal Control Officer. The position requires enforcement of the laws and ordinances set forth by the State of Texas and City of Seymour. Requires a High School Diploma or GED and must have a Basic Police Academy Certification or be able to obtain a Texas Department of State Health Services Basic Animal Control Training & Certification. Clean and maintain the animal impound location. Provide care for animals in our custody and control. Pick up deceased animals and dispose of them according to city requirements. Look out for and address any animal violations or concerns. Duties include assisting Code Enforcement and any other duties assigned. Prior experience is preferred. Must possess a class ā€œCā€ drivers license. The successful candidate will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screening, and successfully obtain security clearance via a criminal history check before any job offer can be made.
