BID NOTICE FOR CITY OF SEYMOUR

Sulfuric Acid Feed Replacement

The City of Seymour will be accepting bids to replace the sulfuric acid chemical feed system at the reverse osmosis water treatment plant.

This project will have an estimated start date of November 1, 2021 and consist of the following:

All components will need to be capable of withstanding continuous contact with 98% sulfuric acid.

Off-site assembly of a chemical pump skid consisting of two motor driven diaphragm metering pumps set up in a primary/backup configuration.  Pumps will need to be capable of achieving a flow greater than or equal to 5GPH and will need to be connected to 2 H/O/A control panels.  Schedule 80 PVDF will need to be used for all piping with the majority of connections being fusion welded.  In addition, there will need to be several isolation valves placed throughout the system to allow for easy repair as well as a glass calibration cylinder.

Bidder will also be responsible with procuring a 210-250 gallon chemical day tank with stand.  This tank should have a specific gravity of at least 1.9 and be made out of a material appropriate for containing 98% sulfuric acid.  Assembly of the piping/connections between the chemical pump skid and day tank can be made on-site during installation.  Connections will also need to be made between the day tank and the acid transfer pump used to supply acid from the bulk tank.

The bidder will be responsible for the demolition and disposal of the existing chemical pump skid and day tank as well as the installation of all new equipment including all hardware, piping, fittings, electrical components, and integration of the chemical pumps into the PLC/SCADA system.

Bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “RO PLANT SULFURIC ACID”. 

Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., September 15, 2021, at which time will be opened and read aloud at the City Administrators office at 301 N. Washington Street. Fax bids will not be accepted.

The bids will be considered by City Council for award at the Regular Called City Council meeting, on September 16, 2021, Portwood Pavilion, 800 E. Morris Street, Seymour, Texas at 7:00 p.m.   The City reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids.
