SEYMOUR CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MINUTES DECEMBER 8, 2020 @ 6:00 P.M.
CITY OF SEYMOUR CONFERENCE ROOM
301 N. WASHINGTON ST, SEYMOUR, TX 76380
PG. 2
Discuss, consider and take action regarding new information received from Texas Division of Emergency Management for the disbursement of Corona Relief Funds.
Council Member Brenda Miller related that the City had received information from TDEM that the CoronaVirus Relief Funds that were originally going to be moved and placed in the special Economic Development Fund can longer be done that way since the special Economic Development Fund is a City account. Brenda stressed the limited amount of time the City has to get the proper documentation and paperwork submitted by the December 15, 2020 deadline. Brenda recommended the Council come up with a plan A and B so if one falls through, they can go to the second plan without having to have another council meeting because there will not be enough time to meet again.
After much discussion Brenda Miller made a motion to move forward with the program through three different options, A, B & C. A Ministerial Alliance, B-Harvest Church, and if A&B do not work out for some reason, then they can go to plan C-food banks in town, being the Meals on Wheels and the Church of Christ Sunshine Days. Also create a committee to move forward with the program and get it set up per the CoronaVirus Relief Fund Guidelines consisting of Mayor Jon Hrncirik, Council Member, Brenda Miller and Economic Development Director, Lauren Bush, motion seconded by Brian Broome, motion carried 4-0.
Adjournment
A motion was made by Monty Glass, seconded by Brian Broome to adjourn, motion carried 4-0.
Attest: Recording Secretary, Suzanne Shumate
