SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
FEBRUARY 19, 2019
A Special Called Meeting of City Council was held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, 301 N. Washington Street, Conference Room.
Call to Order, Roll Call and Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Pro-Tem Jon Hrncirik at 6:02 p.m.
Council present: Mayor Pro-Tem Jon Hrncirik, Mary K. Fair, Monty Glass, Paula K. Vaden
City Staff present: City Administrator Steve Biedermann and City Secretary Conchita Torrez.
Regular meeting closes and Executive Session will begin at 6:03 p.m.
- An Executive Session pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Local Government
Code under: Section 551.074, regarding Personnel Matters: The appointment of a candidate to Council Place #1, due to the resignation of Les Hons.
Executive Session closes and Regular meeting resumes
- Take action resulting from deliberation during Execution Session
The City of Seymour received five interested candidates for the Council position #1, for an un-expired term, due to the resignation of Les Hons.
City Council discussed the following candidates- Misty Broome, Nan Gilbert-Mathis, Tim Elliott, Joe Dickson and Lan Aaron Winn.
After much discussion, a motion was entertained. Motion made by Council member Monty Glass, second by Council member Paula K. Vaden, to appoint Lan Aaron Winn, as Council Place #1, for an un-expired term. Motion passed with 3 ayes and 1 nay from Mary K. Fair. The ayes have the majority votes.
- Adjournment at 8:00 p.m. by Council member Monty Glass, second by Council member Mary K. Fair. Motion passed unanimously.
