SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
OF THE CITY OF SEYMOUR
FEBRUARY, 22, 2018
A Special Called Meeting of Seymour City Council was held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., 301 N. Washington Street, City Hall, Conference Room in Seymour, Texas 76380.
MPT Jon Hrncirik called the meeting to order, along with roll call and Pledge of Allegiance at 6:00 p.m.
Council present: MPT Jon Hrncirik, Les Hons, Paula K. Vaden, Mary K. Fair and Monty Glass.
Council absent: Mayor Josh Sosolik was absent due to previous obligations.
Counsel present: City Attorney Jonathan Whitsitt was not present at this meeting.
City Staff present: City Administrator Steve Biedermann and City Secretary Conchita Torrez
Guests: SISD Superintendent Dr. John Baker, SISD Secretary Royce Woods, SISD Board President Bryan Baldwin and SISD Vice President Rance Carrington.
- Discuss, consider and take action regarding information received from SISD Personnel.
Information is in regards to the Louis H. Johnson Memorial Auditorium and Ag building.
Mr. Baker along with SISD Board Members attended the City Council Special Called Meeting.
The purpose of this meeting was to gather information regarding the Louis H. Johnson Memorial
Auditorium and Ag Building. After a discussion was held a motion was entertained.
Motion made by Council member Monty Glass, second by Council member Paula K. Vaden, to
accept the offer from SISD to take over the auditorium, Ag building, tennis courts along with the
grassy grounds, at no cost to the City of Seymour. The SISD will also put a new roof on the
auditorium at their expense. Motion passes with 4 ayes and 1 nay.
- Discuss, consider and take action regarding the purchase of a 1997 Dresser Model 830B
Motor Grader S/N U203375. Amount of purchase is $16,891.00 from the TXDOT location in
Abilene Texas.
Motion made by MPT Jon Hrncirik, second by Council member Monty Glass, to approve the
purchase of a 1997 Dresser Model 830B Motor Grader S/N U203375 for the amount of
$16,891.00 from Abilene TXDOT. Also, the City will use a local transporter to bring it to
Seymour. Motion passed unanimously.
- Motion to adjourn Special Called Meeting was made by MPT Hrncirik, second by Council member Glass at 6:51 p.m. Motion passes unanimously.
