SEYMOUR CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
FEBRUARY 24, 2021
A Special Called Meeting of City Council was held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 5:30 p.m., 301 N. Washington Street, City Hall Conference Room.
Council present: Mayor Jon Hrncirik, MPT Monty Glass, Council Member Lan Winn, Council Member Mary K. Fair, Council Member Brenda Miller.
Council absent: Council Member Brian Broome
City Staff present: City Secretary Conchita Torrez, Water/Sewer Supervisor Robert Torrez, and Finance Director Mary Griffin.
Guests present Schneider Engineering Representative Steve Moffitt, Mark McCord, Nancy Boone, Sarah and Grant Elliott, Paula Vaden
At this time Guest Mark McCord asked if Council could tell them what the pending litigation was about. Our attorney who was attending meeting via Zoom, advised Council that due to pending litigations we could not disclose any information at this time.
Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance by Mayor Jon Hrncirik at 5:33 p.m.
Regular Meeting closes and Executive Session begins at 5:36 p.m.
1. An Executive Session (closed to the public) and pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, Section 551.071; Consultation with Attorney- Pending Litigation
Executive Session closes and Regular Meeting resumes at 6:49 p.m.
2. Discuss, consider, and take action from deliberations regarding Executive Session.
After discussing with Attorney and Steve Moffitt, with Schneider Engineering, the pending litigations, City Council was advised that this matter was to remain under advisement and would not be disclosed .
Mayor Hrncirik moved on to the Addendum that was added to the Special Called Meeting regarding Royce Stallcup and City of Seymour Harris Land Lease. Mayor Hrncirik announced that Royce was not able to attend therefore it was re-scheduled once again to March 18, 2021. Mayor Hrncirik advised City Secretary to call Mr. Stallcup and inform him if he did not attend the meeting in March, this contract would be considered for termination. City Secretary Torrez advised Mr. Stallcup of the March meeting on the 18th. He understood.
Mayor Jon Hrncirik made a comment and asked for prayers for Council Member Mary K. Fair, who had a dental procedure done, Misty Broome, who was experiencing medical issues and City Secretary Conchita Torrez who was having surgery on Monday.
3. Adjournment by MPT Monty Glass, seconded by Council Member Lan Winn to adjourn meeting at 7:05 p.m.
