CITY OF SEYMOUR CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

FEBRUARY 3, 2020

A Special Called Meeting was held on Monday, February 3, 2020, at 5:30 p.m., at 301 N. Washington Street, City Hall, Conference Room.

Call to Order, Roll Call and Pledge of Allegiance by Mayor Jon Hrncirik at 5:38 p.m.

Council present: Mayor Jon Hrncirik, Council members: MPT Monty Glass, Lan Winn, Brian Broome and Mary K. Fair.

City Staff present: City Administrator Steve Biedermann and City Secretary Conchita Torrez.

Guests present: Lisa Torrez and Brenda Miller

1. Conchita Torrez, City Secretary, administering the Statement of Elected/Appointed Office to Brenda Miller, for Council Place #2, for an unexpired term.

City Secretary Conchita Torrez administered the Statement of Appointed Office, Council Place #2, unexpired term to Brenda Miller.

2.  Conchita Torrez, City Secretary, administering the Oath of Office to Brenda Miller, for Council Place #2, for an unexpired term. 

City Secretary Conchita Torrez administered the Oath of Office, Council Place #2, unexpired term to Brenda Miller.

At this time, Brenda Miller took her respective seat as a Council member.

3. Discuss, consider and approve Resolution No. 1491, regarding submission of a grant application for the Seymour Police Department.

This grant would allow the Seymour Police Department to apply for new hand helds and new base radios. After speaking with Police Clerk Samantha Sturgeon, she informed me that this grant was at the submission stage and they would find out at a later date if the SPD would be fully, partially or not funded at all. Also, this grant will take effect the 2020-2021 Fiscal Year. The City would pay an amount depending on how much they were funded and the reimbursement time would be no more than 2 months. 

Motion made by Council member Mary K. Fair, second by MPT Monty Glass, to approve Resolution No. 1491, pending with additional information from Seymour Police Department.  Motion passes unanimously.

4. Adjournment made by MPT Monty Glass, second by Council member Lan Winn at 5:49 p.m.  Motion passes unanimously.
