Resolution 1516 – Adopting the FY 2021-2022 City of Seymour Budget with a formal vote

RESOLUTION  NO. 1516

A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF SEYMOUR FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2021, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2022, IN THE FORM OF A ROLL CALL ‘VOICE VOTE’ OF THE BUDGET RESOLUTION.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEYMOUR:

SECTION 1.  THAT, the City Administrator, and or City Secretary, has, according to the laws of the State of Texas, prepared and presented to the City Council a Budget covering the fiscal period of twelve (12) months, beginning October 1, 2021, and ending September 30, 2022, which includes anticipated incomes and expenditures for the twelve (12) months period for the City of Seymour in all Departmental operations and provisions for meeting the Debt Obligations of the City; and

SECTION 2.  WHEREAS, the City Administrator, and or City Secretary, has the authority to disburse funds only with approval from council; and

SECTION 3.  WHEREAS, the City Administrator and or City Secretary, has the authority to move funds from line item to line item within a department only with council approval; and

SECTION 4.   WHEREAS, the City Administrator, and or City Secretary,  may go out for bids on any items over  $15,000.00 approved by budget, and must by law go out for bids on any item over $25,000.00, with Council approving bids; and

SECTION 5.   WHEREAS, a public notice has been duly and legally placed in the columns of the Baylor County BANNER and that a public hearing on the Budget has been held in an open meeting of the Council, as provided by law; and

SECTION 6.   WHEREAS, it is the opinion and judgment of the City Council that the Budget, as presented is in all things appropriate and correct; therefore,

The budget is here and now in all things approved and it is provided that the F/Y 2021-2022 City of Seymour Budget will become effective on October 1, 2021.
