USED CRIMELINE TYPE 3,000-GALLON ASPHALT DISTRIBUTOR TANK

The City of Seymour is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of one (1) used Crimeline Type asphalt distributor tank for use by the Street Department. The unit will be utilized for roadway maintenance, seal coating operations, and asphalt preservation projects.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

The proposed unit shall meet or exceed the following minimum requirements:

Tank Specifications

  • Used Crimeline Type asphalt distributor tank
  • Minimum tank capacity: 3,000 gallons
  • Steel construction suitable for asphalt emulsion and hot oil products
  • Tank shall be free from major structural defects, leaks, excessive corrosion, or damage
  • Internal baffles preferred
  • Tank shall be capable of being mounted on an existing truck chassis or trailer platform

Electric Heating System

  • Equipped with a fully operational electric heating system capable of maintaining asphalt products at proper application temperatures
  • Electric heating system shall be designed to safely and efficiently warm asphalt materials for storage and application
  • Heating elements, thermostats, controls, wiring, and associated components shall be fully operational and in good working condition
  • Seller shall provide documentation regarding the condition and functionality of the electric heating system
  • Units utilizing diesel, propane, fuel-oil, or other non-electric heating systems will not be considered

Agitation System

  • Equipped with a functioning circulation or agitation system capable of continuously stirring and mixing asphalt materials
  • Agitation system shall operate in conjunction with the heating system to maintain uniform material consistency
  • Pumping and circulation systems shall be operational and leak-free
  • Valves and piping shall be in serviceable condition

Pump and Spray System

  • Operational asphalt pump
  • Functional spray bar assembly preferred
  • Controls shall be operational
  • All hoses and fittings shall be in good working condition

Condition Requirements

  • Unit shall be fully operational at the time of inspection
  • No known major mechanical deficiencies
  • No significant structural damage
  • Equipment shall be capable of immediate service following delivery with only routine maintenance requirements
  • Seller shall disclose any known defects or repairs

BID SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS

Bid submissions shall include:

  1. Manufacturer and model information
  2. Year of manufacture (if known)
  3. Current condition report
  4. Photographs of equipment
  5. Description of electric heating and agitation systems
  6. Description of any included accessories
  7. Total purchase price
  8. Equipment location
  9. Estimated delivery timeline
  10. Contact information for seller

INSPECTION RIGHTS

The City of Seymour reserves the right to inspect the equipment prior to award and may reject any unit that does not meet the minimum specifications outlined herein.


WARRANTY

Any available warranty information shall be disclosed. Preference may be given to equipment with documented maintenance records and operational history.


AWARD OF BID

The City of Seymour reserves the right to:

  • Accept or reject any and all bids;
  • Waive informalities or irregularities;
  • Award the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City;
  • Consider price, condition, maintenance history, availability, and suitability for intended use.

The City is not obligated to accept the lowest bid.
